The five major lands[/i] Of all the lands, FIRE is the largest and has one hidden village called Konohagakure (Literally meaning ‘Village hidden in leaves’) or Konoha for short. Konoha is usually warm and bright, so the food harvest is normally good. The land of Fire is the centre of trade and has the largest population of the Lands. The Kage of Konoha is called the ‘Hokage’ meaning ‘Fire shadow’

Next largest is WIND. It’s hidden village is called Sunagakure (Literally meaning ‘Village hidden in sand’) or Suna for short. The wind land is large and dry, largely resembling a desert. Any towns like Suna are located near various water sources, which are otherwise hard to find. Despite the fact that a lot of the wind country is inhabitable, Suna still has a large population and frequently trades with many other lands. The Kage of Suna is called the ‘Kazekage’ meaning ‘Wind Shadow’

Next is EARTH. It has a hidden village called Iwagakure (Literally meaning ‘Village hidden in rock’) or Iwa for short. The earth land is both relatively dry in places, and quite wet in others. It consists mainly of rock caves, rivers and forests, portraying the image of a mountainous area on flat land. A lot of strange plants grow here, most of which are giant forms of normal vegetation. These include those such as giant mushrooms and giant bamboo. Iwa mainly trades only with the small villages close to it. The Kage of Iwa is called the ‘Tsuchikage’ meaning ‘Earth Shadow’

The next largest is LIGHTNING. It’s hidden village is called Kumogakure (Literally meaning ‘Village hidden in cloud’) or Kumo for short. The lightning land is very cold, windy and cloudy. Few plants grow here, and it looks a bit like winter has constantly hit, though it is very attractive. The land is relatively mountainous, with large caverns and stuff of the likeness. Kumo is a relatively quiet village, and mainly become hostile to find out information of various Jutsu or Kekkai Genkai. The Kage of Kumo is called the ‘Raikage’ meaning ‘Lightning Shadow’

The next is the land of WATER. This land is split, and so has two hidden villages. The main village is Kirigakure (Literally meaning ‘Village hidden in mist’) or Kiri for short. The land of water’s main body is a lot of small islands, with Kiri being on the main one. The land of water in this area is usually misty, and the air is always full of water. People here tend to live a rather simplistic, more primitive life due to the fact that there is little money. The town of Kiri is known for being rather brutal, and has even acquired the name of ‘Village of the Bloody Mist’. The Seven Swordsman come from this area. The Kage of Kiri is called the ‘Mizukage’ meaning ‘Water Shadow’

The other village is Takigakure (Literally meaning 'Village hidden in Waterfall') or Taki for short. The village is very small, and originally had no Kage. Though now there is a Kage called the ‘Mamizukage’ meaning ‘Fresh Water Shadow’. The village is hidden behind a waterfall, and is very hard to find so they don’t get many visitors. They have something in their village called the ‘Hero Water’. It is a special kind of water extracted from a tree that increases the chakra. Although this is true, it eats away at one’s life-force, and so becomes a ‘double-edged sword’.

The three minor landsThe largest of the minor lands is RAIN and the village is Amegakure (Literally meaning ‘Village hidden in Rain’) or Ame for short. The land of Rain is highly destabilized, and consists of a large number of wooden houses in a wooded area, giving the image of a rainforest. Those in the land of rain are highly suspicious and keep tabs of people entering the village. Ame is a loosely knit society. The kage of this land is the ‘Amekage’ meaning ‘Rain Shadow’

Next is GRASS with the hidden village Kusagakure (Literally meaning ‘Village hidden in grass’) or Kusa for short. The grass lands are large and flat, with large lakes and vivid wild grass plains. The people here usually live in simplistic huts and are quite a tight community. Because of this though, they don’t have very good relations with the other villages. The Kage of this land is the ‘Kusakage’ meaning ‘Grass Shadow’
